RFQ Terms

Last updated: 1 July 2026

1. Purpose and Scope

These RFQ Terms govern the posting of, and responding to, Requests for Quotation (“RFQs”) on the Global Trade Sourcing B2B Platform (the “Platform”). They form part of, and should be read together with, the Terms & Conditions, Buyer Terms, and Supplier Terms.

2. What Is an RFQ

An RFQ is a request submitted by a Buyer describing a product or service the Buyer wishes to purchase, including specifications, quantity, target price range, delivery terms, or other requirements, which is made visible to relevant Suppliers on the Platform so that they may submit quotations in response.

3. Rules for Posting an RFQ

  • An RFQ must reflect a genuine, current sourcing need of the Buyer posting it.
  • An RFQ must include reasonably accurate specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements sufficient for a Supplier to prepare a meaningful quotation.
  • A Buyer must not post the same or substantially similar RFQ repeatedly within a short period solely to harvest additional Supplier contacts or pricing data.
  • A Buyer must not post an RFQ on behalf of, or for the benefit of, a competing sourcing platform or service.

4. Rules for Responding to an RFQ

  • A Supplier's quotation in response to an RFQ must be based on the Supplier's genuine ability to supply the requested product or service on the terms quoted.
  • Suppliers must not use RFQ contact details to send unrelated or unsolicited marketing outside the scope of the RFQ.
  • Suppliers should clearly disclose material limitations affecting their quotation, such as minimum order quantities, lead times, or certification gaps relevant to the Buyer's stated requirements.

5. Confidentiality of RFQ Details

Details contained in an RFQ are shared with Suppliers solely to allow them to prepare and submit a quotation. Suppliers must not disclose, redistribute, or use RFQ details for any purpose other than responding to that RFQ, including sharing RFQ details with unrelated third parties or using them to build a competing lead list, except with the Buyer's consent or as required by law.

6. Quote Validity and Negotiation

A quotation submitted in response to an RFQ is valid for the period stated in the quotation, or, if no period is stated, for a commercially reasonable period. Global Trade Sourcing is not a party to the negotiation between Buyer and Supplier and does not guarantee that any quotation will remain available, that pricing will not change, or that a Transaction will result.

7. Fair Usage and Volume Limits

Global Trade Sourcing may apply reasonable limits on the number of RFQs a Buyer may post, or the number of quotations a Supplier may submit, within a given period, particularly on free membership tiers, to preserve the quality and fairness of the RFQ system for all Users, consistent with Section 10 (Buyer Database, Leads, Messaging, and Fair Usage) of the Terms.

8. Prohibited RFQ Conduct

  • posting fake, duplicate, or test RFQs;
  • using RFQs to scrape or harvest Supplier contact details at scale;
  • submitting quotations the Supplier has no intention or ability to honor; and
  • using RFQ or quotation data to build or supply a competing product, service, or directory, as further prohibited under the Intellectual Property & Content Policy.

9. Enforcement

Violation of these RFQ Terms may result in removal of the relevant RFQ or quotation, restriction of RFQ posting or response privileges, and suspension or termination of the User's account, in accordance with Section 14 (Monitoring, Moderation, Suspension, and Termination) of the Terms.
